THE FINE PRINT
Education, not advice.
Unbroke (@unbrokemoney) is a free trading, markets and business news brand. Everything on this site, in our posts and in our newsletter is general education. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not advice for your situation. We are not registered investment advisers, brokers or commodity trading advisors. Talk to a qualified professional before you make big money decisions.
How we make money.
Unbroke is free. Readers never pay. We earn from affiliate links and from sponsors and brand deals, always marked #ad. Full details: Affiliate Disclosure.
Backtests and simulations.
Strategy Lab results and the Pass-Odds Simulator are hypothetical. Hypothetical results have built-in limits: they are made with hindsight, do not involve real money, and cannot fully account for real-world risk, slippage or emotions. No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. Past results don't predict future returns.
Researched stock picks (newsletter only).
Our newsletter may include one researched stock pick per issue. Each pick is general and the same for every reader. It is not advice for you. Each pick shows its sources, a bull case and a bear case, the risks, and what would prove us wrong. We do not send alerts between issues, and we do not answer "should I buy?" We track every pick forever on a public scorecard against SPY (an S&P 500 fund), using total return with dividends. Losses are shown as clearly as wins. The scorecard is hypothetical tracking, not real trades. If our method does not beat SPY, we will say so.
Educational research, not investment advice. Do your own research. Past results don't predict future returns.
Do we own the stocks we write about?
We may. In every pick, we disclose any position held by Unbroke or its people. We do not trade a pick from 30 days before it is published until 10 days after. We never trade against an open pick. No company or investor relations firm that pays us for anything can be a pick.
Trading risk.
Trading stocks, futures, options and crypto involves risk, including losing more than you put in with leverage. Any time we mention a possible profit, the risk of loss is just as real.
Prop firms.
Prop firm evaluations are paid, simulated challenges, and most traders fail them. In FPFX Tech data on 100,000 traders at 10 prop firms, 14% passed a challenge and got a funded account, and about 7% of all traders received a payout (Finance Magnates, Sep 18, 2024; data period not disclosed). Fees are usually non-refundable. Only spend what you can afford to lose. 18+. Every prop firm post and page carries this warning.
Crypto.
Crypto prices can swing hard and assets can go to zero. We don't promote tokens or coins.
